Just a bit about myself. My pronouns are she/her.
I am an enrolled citizen of the Dine (Navajo) Tribe. I like to hike and spend time with my family. My hobby is painting.
Currently, I was hired at CDPHE in the Office of Health Equity. My job title is Tribal health data specialist. I collaborate and work with internal and external partners to honor and respect Tribal Sovereignty while working with Tribal data governance.
I completed my Master of Science in Nutrition from the College of Health Solutions at Arizona State University. I was a Maternal Child Health TRANSCEND scholar. As a MCH transcend scholar, I collaborated with Arizona state departments, external health stakeholders, school districts’ nutrition services and gained nutritional science clinical experience.
Published work is related to Adverse Childhood Experiences and the relationship to food Insecurity. (“Food Insecurity and adverse childhood experiences: a Systematic Review” and my thesis was a retrospective qualitative cross-sectional titled “A Description of Arizona FFVP Related to nutrition education.”
Prior to my experience in Arizona in Maternal Child Health, I provided community outreach pertaining to education, nutrition education, health promotion, and disease prevention. I have experience working and collaborating with Community Colleges, Tribal WIC office, and IHS services.
