About me
Dr. Shere Walker-Ravenell is a dedicated community leader, educator, and advocate for equity and justice. As the founder of Black Parents United Foundation/Brown Parents United Foundation (BPUF), and WIN Empowerment Consulting by Dr. Shere, she works tirelessly to support grassroots organizations, businesses, and communities in overcoming systemic barriers. With over 20 years in the nonprofit sector and 15 years as an educator, Dr. Walker-Ravenell brings expertise in strategic planning, program development, and leadership training. Her commitment to environmental justice, health equity, and youth empowerment has positioned her as a vital force in advocating for marginalized communities - specifically black, brown, and low income communities. Through BPUF, she leads initiatives that address air and water quality, public health, and policy advocacy, ensuring that Black families and other underrepresented groups have access to essential resources and a voice in decision-making processes. As a Black woman and community leader, Dr. Walker-Ravenell’s work is deeply rooted in her lived experiences and unwavering commitment to social justice. Her leadership extends beyond education and advocacy—she fosters meaningful collaborations with policymakers, institutions, and local organizations to create lasting change. Under her guidance, BPUF has strengthened partnerships with government agencies, health professionals, and community leaders to drive impactful programs, from youth public comment training to environmental monitoring projects. Whether through mobilizing resources for families, advocating for policy reforms, or mentoring emerging leaders, Dr. Walker-Ravenell embodies the resilience and vision necessary to uplift and empower historically marginalized and disproportionately communities.
