About me
Ava Cox earned a Master of Public Health (MPH) in Epidemiology from Emory University’s Rollins School of Public Health in May 2024. During her time at Emory, she gained invaluable experience as a research assistant and as a biostatistics intern for Emory University’s School of Medicine in the Division of Infectious Disease, as well as a statistical programming teaching assistant. These roles, alongside her rigorous coursework, deepened her dedication to public health within the context of data analysis and epidemiology.
Since July 2024, Ava has served as a Population Health Epidemiologist at the Adams County Health Department (ACHD). In this role, she applies statistical analysis to inform evidence-based decision-making, leverages Geographic Information Systems (GIS) for spatial data analysis, and develops innovative web-based data tools to streamline workflows across various health department programs. Ava is driven by a strong commitment to advancing public health through data-driven strategies and is passionate about strengthening her community by building partnerships, fostering collaboration and engaging with diverse populations. Her work reflects her dedication to improving health outcomes and addressing disparities through thoughtful, data-centered solutions.
